Lawrence Dunham Vineyards creates hand-crafted wines that reflect the unique Arizona environment.
Our philosophy of winemaking is to choose the right location, select the perfect grape varietals, meticulously care for the vineyard---and then let nature work its magic.
Our wines let the fruit speak for itself. Rhone varietal grapes
flourish in the volcanic soils of the Chiricahua Mountain foothills.
Our Arizona estate winery is located in the Chiricahuas, nestled
next to Ash Creek. Petite Sirah, Syrah, Viognier and Grenache
thrive in this pristine environment, known for its clean air, pure water, and soils. The 5000’ elevation provides warm days, cool nights, mountain breezes, and four-season climate essential for estate wine production. |

Chiricahua means “Great Mountain” in Apache and is an inactive volcanic range; the largest mountain range in the “Sky Island” region of southeastern Arizona.
From rock pinnacles in the Chiricahua National Monument that the Apaches called
“The Land of the Standing-Up Rocks” to the Turkey Creek Caldera, the area geology imparts unique nuances to the grapes and our wines showcase the area characteristics in a way that is bold, sophisticated, balanced, and unique. |
We are passionate about sharing our wine growing adventure.
Most of our vacations have been to wine growing regions
around the world.
While walking through the vineyards in Burgundy, France or sitting in a small barn on barrels sharing a bottle of wine with
a winemaker in Dundee, Oregon, the yearning to create our
own vineyard in Arizona gave rise to a plan to make it a reality.
